Politics-based knowledge legitimation model: power exercise in organizational learning

Purpose The purpose of this study is to propose a model knowledge legitimation in organizational learning focusing on the relationship between power politics and legitimacy. Design/methodology/approach This adopts approach conceptual discussion. Findings developed an that explains how actors exercise their legitimated through politics. author identified various factors shape politics; these trigger, enhance, facilitate inhibit exercise. also which type (influence, force, domination discipline) leads legitimacy (pragmatic, moral cognitive). Furthermore, found are interrelated; actors’ powers bestow knowledge, enhances related actors. Originality/value set as well associated mechanism illustrated they lead legitimation. revealed relationships knowledge. Finally, elaborated findings prior studies concerning learning.
